Dr. Mukta Umarji

Hello! I am Dr. Mukta Umarji, a highly experienced obstetrician-gynecologist with a distinguished career spanning over 40 years. With a deep commitment to women’s health and well-being, I strive to provide comprehensive care, advanced surgical skills, and a compassionate approach to every patient I serve.

My journey in the medical field has been marked by numerous accomplishments and contributions to the field of obstetrics and gynecology. With an MBBS, MD, and DGO under my belt, I have acquired a strong foundation of medical knowledge and expertise. Additionally, my Diploma in Advanced Endoscopy in Gynaecology has equipped me with specialized skills in minimally invasive procedures.

Having served as the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Sassoon General Hospital, I have had the privilege of guiding and training numerous medical professionals. This experience has further sharpened my clinical skills and deepened my understanding of the unique needs of women at every stage of their lives.

I am proud to have served as the President of the Pune Obs-Gynaec Society in 2012-2013, where I actively promoted awareness about women’s health and advocated for preventive care. As the Vice President of Arogya Bharti in the Pashchim Prant region, I continue to contribute to initiatives that improve healthcare access and outcomes for women in our community.

My association with the Indian Menopause Society, both as a past Secretary and a member of the Executive Board in Pune, reflects my commitment to addressing the specific health challenges faced by women during the transitional phase of menopause. I believe in empowering women with knowledge and providing personalized care to help them navigate this significant stage in their lives.

One of my key areas of expertise lies in promoting normal deliveries. I am a strong advocate for the benefits of vaginal birth and actively work towards creating an environment where it can be achieved safely. My exceptional management skills and patience enable me to collaborate effectively with expert teams, ensuring that new mothers and newborns receive the best possible care.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am deeply involved in educational and non-profit institutions that focus on creating awareness about women’s health and preventive care. I firmly believe that a “well-woman” is the need of society and actively practice and promote preventive healthcare, ranging from pre-conception to pregnancy and through the challenges of menopause.
